black lives matter, change

Hey everyone…

This is such a disheartening time as many of you all know. ANDWHY. is shutting down for this week. I am personally at loss for words and there’s only so much I can say before I let my emotions get the best of me. I’m all for this movement and the humanity behind it. There are people who are hurting. Don’t block yourselves off from them, bring them closer. Listen to them. Value them. Heal them.

I know ANDWHY is about sharing untold and unwritten stories, but at this time, my voice is trapped. There’s an overwhelming amount of pain and suffering that people are feeling. A sense of helplessness to those who can’t do much. A reminder of weakness to those who are currently struggling as it is. And..a wave of fear due to the unpredictability of this time. My heart goes out to all of you who are struggling financially, physically, and/or emotionally. Whether you are of any race or not, whether you are directly affected or not, you DO matter. Your feelings are valid.

Black lives especially matter right now. Their feelings need to be validated. Their voices need to be amplified. Their pain needs to be our pain. Their version of the justice system is OUR justice system too. We need to change that. No more death at the hands of people who see other races as inferior. No more suffering at the hands of people who say they care but demonstrate otherwise.

It’s time to stand up and fight for one another. Listen to one another. Fight with love and hope on our side.

The world is a beautiful place, especially in its diversity. It’s about gathering people of all backgrounds and realize we have more to unite us…than to divide us. Let’s break down those walls of division.

I’m taking this week to reflect and to take care of myself and my family. But my heart is always open and it’s always present. I’m going to do what I can by donating, sharing messages, educating others, but ANDWHY will be at a standstill. No podcast or blog this week.

Thank you for reading. I hope you’re all safe and sound.
