These are addicting, don’t say I didn’t warn you!
Hope you guys are eating yummy food and having a wonderful Lunar New Year weekend! In my family, we speak Cantonese and say “Gong Hay Fat Choy” (恭喜发财).
Tomorrow’s Valentine’s day, so here is a list of my top Korean romance dramas on Netflix. You can watch these with your family, friends or maybe loved ones. Most importantly, don’t forget to social distance or stay home and facetime with your loved ones and enjoy yourselves.
Crash Landing On You
[Military, Romance, Sweet, Funny]
Yoon Se-Ri (actress Son Ye-Jin) goes paragliding and an accident occurs. She somehow ends up in North Korea and meets Ri Jeong-Hyeok (actor Hyun Bin), who is a North Korean military officer. He decides to help hide her and protect her until she can safely leave the country. Along the way, they begin to fall in love with each other.
Hands down one of the best Korean dramas I have watched. The romantic interactions between Ri Jeong Hyeok and Yoon Se-Ri are the sweetest. I also love the second lead couple, with actress Seo Ji-Hye as ‘Seo Dan’ and actor Kim Jung-Hyun as ‘Gu Seung-Jung’. I found it very interesting how they showed the North Korean culture, which is rarely seen in dramas. This is definitely a drama I can rewatch.

[Technology, Romance, Goal-Driven]
Young entrepreneurs aspiring to make their dreams a reality. Seo Dal-Mi (actress Bae Suzy) wants to prove to her sister and mother that she can become successful on her own and start a company. She decides to find her pen pal and meets Nam Do-San (actor Nam Joo-Hyuk) who is the founder of Namsan Tech.
You will want to eat Korean corn dogs after watching this and many of you will have a hard time choosing between the main lead and the second lead. I personally had second lead syndrome while watching this, but I kept switching back and forth between the characters. For those of you living in New York, there’s a really good Korean corn dog place called “Chunchun Rice Hot Dog.” Highly recommend grabbing one while watching this drama.

[Korean, Action, Romance, Secret Agent]
A plane crash kills Cha Dal-Geon’s (actor Lee Seung-Gi) nephew and he finds out that it’s associated with corruption. He’s determined to find the truth and works alongside Go Hae-Ri (actress Bae Suzy), a covert operative for the National Intelligence Service.
This is a really enjoyable action drama! It will make you cry and feel thrilled at the same time. You can feel the character’s emotions of wanting justice for his nephew as he finds out what really happened. The ending isn’t the best, but hopefully, they will have a season 2 soon.

My First First Love
[Romance, comedy, college students]
8 Episodes [season 1 & season 2]
Five friends who are 20-years old decide to leave their homes and live together at Yun Tae-O’s (actor Ji Soo) home. They experience friendship, love, and hardships. Song-Yi (actress Jung Chae-Yeon) and Do-Hyun (actor Jin Young) begin to fall in love, while Tae-O her childhood friend watches from afar.
One of the cutest dramas, if you like Strong Woman Do Bong Soon, you will like this one. It’s a very warm, fuzzy, and light type of drama to watch.

[Romance, Technology, High School]
An app is created that tells you that there is someone who likes you that is 10 meters away. Hwang Sun-Oh (actor Song Kang), a popular and wealthy student notices his best friend Lee Hye-Young (actor Jung Ga-Ram) falls in love with Kim Jo-Jo (actress Kim So-Hyun). Hwang Sun-Oh decides to test his friend to figure out if he really likes her.
I found this drama really interesting. It made me question what the world would be like if someone actually created an app like this. You will go through an emotional rollercoaster while watching this and find out the hardships JoJo had to experience as a child. It really sucks that they leave you on a cliffhanger but it’s a really good series.
