Hey everyone!! Magazines are dying, they said. Well, actually, there has been quite an interest in creating digital magazines and if you don’t know what that means, check out Issuu.com. This is where anyone can be a magazine publisher and express their creativity through art, photography, words, design, etc. It’s easy and FREE. Others have turned this into a viable business where they can make profit through the site alone or with advertisements.
For me, I’ve always had an interest in film, photography, graphic design, and writing as well. I wanted to focus on people and bring light to their stories through that creativity.
I got lost. I wanted to start my blog where I can talk about myself and share my experiences on life but I also wanted to start something I can talk about people and share their stories. There were a lot of blurry lines between the two. There’s me as a blogger but there’s also me as an artist that serves others. I know I can’t do all without having to give up one over the other. But giving myself up or giving others up didn’t sound much appealing.
I wanted both. So I decided that I would do just that. It’s hard work but I’m willing to put that in.
MY PLAN FOR MAGAZINE
So while I focus on my blog and the Instagram that connects with it, I’m going to take photos of everyone with a story worth telling. I will share their one photo of them on a Instagram, then take those photos and put it into a file where I can further use them in design. I take inspiration from top magazines and use that to inspire my models as well. For a few models, I will also make films on them that will be posted on Youtube and on IG.
The goal is to share their stories through art and creativity that reflects them and I’m super excited to share that with you guys. You can check the Instagram out by clicking here.
WHY ANDWHY. MAGAZINE?
The reason why I decided to name it ANDWHY is because many times in life, the “why” is the hardest question to answer. Cause that usually encourages self-knowledge and self-analyzation. We can answer it but not in the depth that we’re scared of. We are always asked, “What’s this and that, AND WHY?” The why is always that hook that the end that catches us haha. I really enjoy hearing WHY people do what they do or WHY they think what they think because they usually end up asking themselves the same question and it shows that we’re all human and are learning all in the same ways.
I hope you can follow my journey of creating it by following the Instagram @andwhymag. If you would like to share your stories, I’m all ears. 🙂
